Imprint of the Scourge
(Private)
"I thought of a world without memory, without time. I considered the possibility of language that ignored nouns, a language of impersonal verbs or indeclinable epithets. Thus were dying the days and with the days the years, but something akin to happiness happened one morning. It rained, with powerful slowness."
All that is listed below has to be learnt IRP.
Background
..The engraved rune containing the following information seems.. Old. a rune that has seen better times, clearly. Scratches and dents covering the walls of the cave, as the following information is sent to you through mentalism. A recording of one’s memory, from the looks of it.
“..Recording one. The final night of the Fells moon. Please, for the sake of the old times, remind me of what you go by.”
..There’s an overdrawn interval of silence, followed by the sound of a wooden chair scraping against a slate floor.
“Come on, you know this is a place of welcome. We’re home! The only place you’ve ever felt safe at in your entire life.”
“..Scourged.”
“See, but that isn’t your name, now is it? That’s not what mother calls you. Say, wasn’t your name–” There’s a subtle blip in the recording. “-..Y’know? Like the name given to you at birth?”
“..I Can’t answer that off the top of my head..”
“..I Can tell. You know, out of all the things for you to come back as, I had assumed an undead would be one of the things mother would raise you as just to beat you bloody after that incident you had caused. But.. This?”
“I Haven’t a clue of what you’re talking about, or why I am here..”
“..Of course you don’t.” There was a heavy sigh from the man who seemed to be interrogating the rather strange voice. The voice sounded as if it echoed despite the man’s doing the opposite.
After another long pause of silence, there was the sound of Rummaging, before the man spoke up once more. “..What of this? Do you recognize this?” Followed by the colliding of items in a bag.
“..No. none of these are of any importance to me.. They are mere dolls.”
“..Alright. You have his soul.. But you aren’t him. What of these three souls do you have? Are you a leech upon him?”
“...” The being clearly grew uneasy at that. Only the sound of one rearranging themselves in their spot could be subtly heard.
“..Well?” The slightest hint of desperation was in the man’s tone at this point.
“..I wish I knew. I would answer your questions if I had the knowledge.. I was simply thrusted into sentience a mere few days ago.. I feel something once I see the items, yet I don’t.. I don’t know the significance.”
“..I See.”
Afterward, a distant door opening could be heard. Followed by a heavy sigh. “..Seems we’ll have to continue this questioning for later. For now.. This is the end of the interrogation. You’ll be free soon, Once I figure out how to get you off of my brother..”

Culture
There is no specific limit to how long one can live.
There is no specific set standard for how these beings live, aside from how they are required to act.
They can leech on to any race, and afflict them, as long as they can become afflicted.
They are required to feed upon the auras of nearby beings of their choice within a 30m, affecting the victim’s magic usage for that time being.
Although, due to their unusual appearance, some may lead to being praised by those grasping for any “higher being” they can put faith into.
They have a more “ethereal” echo when they speak.
Strengths & Weaknesses
They retain the strengths and weaknesses of their host’s race, whilst having their own.
More attuned to Mimicry or Mentalism.
Capable of flight
Resistant against Mentalism
They are required to Feed upon the auras (magical auras) of nearby beings within a 30m, causing the victims’ casting cooldowns to go up by 1.
If the Imprinted were to die, the Pest could escape by burrowing out of the body and fleeing. If they are to escape and burrow within a new body, they retain their previous memories, freeing the previous victim.
One of the major benefits of an Imprint is that they are a dominant affliction; having the choice of picking off other afflictions with ease within the body or that may attempt to enter the body. weirdly enough, with this, they can “cure” the host of other illnesses and/or afflictions.
Their aura is hard to decipher, even the most skilled folk with aura sight are incapable of predicting and/or seeing what aura the Imprint has due to all of the souls and auras at once.
Having their mana drained is a major weakness of the beings, inflicting harsh mana burn on them as if they were casting themself.
Aura manipulation could be another weakness for if the magic is to come out
Infestation
Rather than your normal means of being infected via spreading through the blood or a bite, the way one becomes Infested with such an Affliction is through different means.
To become an Imprint of the Scourged, one must have a Scourged Pest be Burrowed deep within them. This is only possible through means of taking over a Corpse and/or sentient being. This is not a desirable outcome for one to have, as the pest will take over one’s mind and impede upon their body, renovating it to its own appearance, though with allusions to the previous host’s appearance. The aforementioned host does not die during this, instead, they are forced to the back of their head and have to watch the newly unaware sentient being take control and live out their life for them.
Scourged Pest are Hastey little creatures, with strong shells that protect them, much like a turtle. Though this comes at a cost, making the entire other part of their body frail.
