Background Lore:
Lellavin are a working race, normally being brought up by their parents for a job that has been in the family for generations, such as factory work, mercenary or fishing. Though, as times fell tough, factory working became a much more common job for these species. Their tails being preferred by employers due to the ‘third arm’. This has earned them the nickname of “Tailrats” or “Worktails” by middle class and upper class people. They are often looked down upon and seen as disposable.
Appearance:
Lellavin are a very humanoid/elvish looking species, normally being taller than their counterparts. Instead, standing at around 6-7ft in height (1.8 - 2.1 m). Another good way to define them is their often long tail, which often has the tool of their trade attached to it. Tails can come in many different forms, though keeps the trend of a long, slim tail with the ability to hold onto or attach tools and weapons.
Lellavin are often known for their weird hair colours. Blue, Pink and purple are colours that are often used to show what clan someone is in. This is often shared by whatever clothes they wear unless under work restrictions, or it is simply frowned upon. They also have extremely soft skin, much like Reapers.
Culture:
Lellavin are a social species. Having villages much like the Tapeti though these villages are normally owned by one of the 2 main clans. The third being a nomadic clan without a place to call home. This third clan often work as mercenaries. Lellavin normally don’t use magic though have the ability to manage and use mana well, though not having the natural proficiency elves have, feeling that their tails are a much better solution compared to magic. An example is they can use their tails as a grapple hook rather than using Aeromancy to fly up. This however does put their tail a good target to stun a Lellavin. If a tail gets cut off, they are seen as useless by others in their species until it grows back. This can take up to 3 days if it has been fully decapitated. They also have a cat like ability of having people question if they are liquid or not, being extremely flexible and almost immune to fall damage, though get extremely bad ground shock. They also follow the rule of “If its head can fit, The rest can” which can be a terrifying concept in practice.
Subsection - Clans
Purple Hair / Heria Clan:
These Lella have made it. They normally live in nice country sides. Having underlings and butlers. Living in nice, Big, fancy mansions. This success however is normally through crime or connections. Do not trust these Lella, as they may be kind one minute. Though always willing to put a knife in your back. Blue Hair / Wettic Clan
Commoners. Often working in factories and fishing outposts as legal slaves. Contracted by those much richer and barely getting a dollar. The harsh work environments normally have them only able to afford necessities. Hence why they use the cheaper dyes. Such as Blue.
Pink Hair / Nottak
Nomads. They are normally mercenaries or contractors. They follow rules and values they have set for themselves. Normally never straying from them. These Lella are still seen as underneath a human, but these ones won’t hesitate to grab for a weapon when you insult them. And they are normally insulted a lot.
Strengths:
They are a hard-working species. Normally able to get something done if they put their mind to it.
They are extremely flexible, as mentioned before. Having the ability to fit through small gaps as
if they were liquid. Though they are still a pretty solid creature when not crawling through small gaps.
They also have pretty good stamina, letting them run a fair distance or fighting for a long while without tiring.
Lellavin are extremely confident and optimistic. Though normally not being cocky. They know what they are capable of and will try to avoid a conflict that could bring them to their knees, however this also means that they are happier and don’t suffer from depression.
Lella are also naturally strong in the core and arms, able to wield large weapons that a human couldn’t without a counterbalance. They are known to wield scythes, claymores and large hammers.
Lella have been known to have 3 meter long tails that can expand an extra meter so it can become a 4 meter tail when needed. This can allow them to use it as a grappling hook as it wraps around an object and either use it to wrap around the object or to use a tool and have the tail acting as some type of rope
Lellavin’s tail also have extremely strong grips, some people have rumored that the tools that they have at the end of their tail is permanently attached but they’re not. Only in some rare cases are they burned or sewed into the tail.
They don’t take fall damage. Due to their flexible nature and the bone structure, Lellavin can fall from extreme heights and just absorb the impact like not much happened. Though they will still have to stand there for a second or two due to ground shock
Weaknesses:
Lellavin get dehydrated quickly, constantly needing half water every hour or so. This makes them prefer wetter environments, though not necessarily cold.
Their tails are a large advantage and disadvantage, as when one is cut or decapitated they go into shock and get stunned.
Loud noises also stun them pretty easily due to having sensitive hearing. Though isn’t as good as a Tapeti hearing.
Lellavin are also extremely trusting. This does get taken advantage of a lot, but also makes them loyal. Unless they are nomadic, then it's more effort to create a good relationship with them.
Lellavin tails can easily get in the way, get trapped in a door or hit a roof. This can cause a little pain or just an annoyance for them
Lella’s tail normally has a mind of its own dependent on the emotion, This has caused some accidental deaths within the race's mercenary community. It can also get tails stuck, as Lella cannot will it to.
Their tails can easily wrap around something like a pole if they aren’t holding a tool. This effectively leashes them to the pole until they hit it off.
