Bladeslingers, Spellblades and Hexblades.
In order to Cast in Cinderfell, Your caster type will fall under One of three categories. You can pick whichever one suits your character more appropriately, based on casting times, their strengths and weaknesses, etc. Cinderfell has Three types of casters; Bladeslingers, Spellblades, and Hexblades. Bladeslingers are your typical Casting whilst fighting in battle, having average spells due to being preoccupied. Spellblades are better casters than Bladeslingers, but also not extremely heavy casters; able to fight to a degree while casting. And a Hexblader is a Heavy mage, unable to fight whilst casting.
(Normal Caster) Bladeslinger.
Bladesingers are Casters who are less attuned to magic compared to Hexblades and Spellblades., and do not require a foci to cast. Instead, they take advantage of this to be able to wear Heavy armour, and have both hands or one occupied with a weapon. They’re able to fight in battle and cast spells at the same time, although take more of a Cooldown time between spells. Bladesingers are known for usually being knights that wield magic, most commonly dressed in heavy armour.
(Light Caster) Spellblade
Spellblades are the Ying to the Yang of Hexbladers and Bladeslingers alike. They are able to cast quicker than a Bladeslinger but not as fast as a Hexblader, and can produce more powerful spellcasting like a Hexblader. This is due to them also having to use a Foci, and can attack someone physically whilst casting. This is due to their foci being a One-handed object or weapon, allowing them to occupy their other hand with a weapon and/or use that free hand for any hand movements needed to cast.
(Heavy Caster) Hexblade
A Hexblade caster type is a caster type that leans more into heavier casting compared to the other groups of castertypes. They are able to cast quicker than other classes, along with being able to have more powerful spells. They get to cast from tier 2-upwards and have a shorter cooldown. A Hexblader only wields a two-handed Foci or Weapon. This is the item that allows them to cast. They can’t cast whilst attacking unless their Foci is a Two-handed Weapon and its movement is required as part of the spell.
