Orcs
Background
Orcs were the predecessors to Kalfarians, having previously been the well-known intelligent race that Kalfarians are now. Though, with time, this changed. Once kalfarians were birthed into the world, a great catastrophe befell the Orc race. A group of kalfarians, decades before the great war, went against the code of their forefathers. And went on a crusade against their ‘makers’, wiping out those who dared intervene with new technology that no other race had heard of until that point. After years and years of watching their brethren get slaughtered for seemingly no reason, the orc race finally snapped, losing their once-peaceful mindset and instead gaining a more ravenous and vengeful one. One by one, the group was slowly cut down. Over the years and years of treacherous survival, the orcs had finally given up and instead started fighting back against the kalfarians. Decades later, before the great war, Orcs were left as nothing but angry, revengeful people, over time replacing the intelligence with the strength they sought after to get back at the kalfarians.
Appearance
Orcs are known mainly for their large, bulky frame- and their skin, being similar to a Kalfarians however mainly remaining a dark Green, red or yellow tone compared to Kalfarians being of a lighter tone or mixed tones.Their eyes are always a dark color, yet are also smaller than your average eyes.
An Orc's mouth may or may not have tusks protruding; this is very dependent on from where they originate, or perhaps battles have caused them to lose their tusks, etc. Same goes for having horns protruding from their skulls. Orcs also have different variants of hair, long, short, dark, light, etc. Finally, Orcs are also some of the tallest races, towering at around 6-8ft.
Culture
Orcs that usually originate from the colder regions of Cinderfell tend to still have their tusks, along with having longer hair (facial and body), their culture more leaning towards a hunter-style due to the harsh winters. However Orcs that live in more warm and swampy areas may not have as much hair or may have removed tusks due to being in areas where they are more likely to run into trouble, or overall trying to blend into Kalfarian society.
Orcs tend to also shame and shun other orcs, however this only occurs when an Orc is discovered to have dabbled in Magic. Especially if it is in necromancy. Orcs were also shunned if they accepted any religion or gods that the majority may not follow, causing them to try and remove any remaining tusks that Orc may have. Sometimes even shunning them for failing specific requirements in their tribe. Each tribe may be similar or different to one-another, having different means of acceptance and tolerability to one-another in each group. Though, one thing is common within each tribe. the association of common technology and magitech/clockwork items are prohibited. otherwise, one is shunned, being forced out of the tribe, or even brutally killed.
Commonly, an Orc may have their preferred/favourite weapon tattooed onto their fore-arm/shoulder, as a sign of respect to their trusty weapon of choice.
Orcs, funnily enough, are Carnivores, but not cannibals. (surprise!)
Strengths
Orcs are more resistant to Blunt and piercing damage. Only being affected more by larger hits- Such as with a heavy axe or a large broadsword being swung by a muscled Male/Female. This is due to their Bulky frame and muscle density.
The same bulky frame and muscle density also allows them to be resistant to the heat and cold, and their larger frame also helps with resistance to poison and potions due to needing larger doses of such to be affected.
Finally, the Muscle density also helps with them being strong- stronger than most races although not all. Orcs rely on their brute strength, but aren't able to break an average human bone in one or two hits, needing more than such.
Weaknesses
Due to what happened, The Orcs that remain these days are less intelligent than humans, but not entirely dumb-- they may have trouble communicating their sentences or intentions, when they could possibly mean well. On Top of this, Orcs are short-tempered and have bad eyesight, making communication even worse for them and causing them to lash out more often. Though, this doesn’t stop an Orc from being a big softie on the inside. Orcs are also Heavy and large, taking a lot of energy to generally move around and can get tired quicker. Their wounds generally take longer to heal.
