3- Roleplay Rules
3.1 MetagamingNo Meta-gaming, or using out-of-character information In-character
3.2 Powergaming
No Power-gaming, or forcing your actions on other characters. Roleplay as realistically as possible, and allow others to respond appropriately to your actions. Sometimes this may take a bit of time, depending on how fast the person types. So please be patient!
3.3 Avoidance/Combat Logging
Do not avoid Roleplay. Logging out or ignoring someone mid-rp to avoid them without justified in-character reasoning is unreasonable. During combat, this is also considered Combat logging (CL), Which can get you a warning and further punishments if actions are found to be consistent
3.4 No ERP (Erotic Roleplay)
No erotic roleplay (ERP). If Sexual encounters happen in roleplay, fade to black or completely timeskip the encounter. Do not go into any detail, Both characters must be at least 18 years old and express consent. If this is not the case, report to a staff member immediately as this results in an instant perma-ban. Please also refer to NSFW Rules.
3.5 RP-Locks
A captured character can only be held for 48 hours (In real life time) unless otherwise agreed upon, and must be given sufficient roleplay unless also agreed to Rp-Locking their character. Otherwise if there is no agreement staff may release them early and DM the persons escape with the captured party.
3.6 Follow Magic Lore
To use magic on the server, you must ‘prep’ your magic according to the magic lore. Do not try and take 1 action to prepare a massive fireball- be realistic.
3.7 Popular Media With Characters and Skins
No popular names or skins. Do not name your character after another from popular media, or use an easily recognizable character skin (e.g aphmau, or a troll skin).
3.8 Rolling for Combat
Rolling during combat or any encounter is not something that is forced. Try to be realistic as rolling will only occur if;
A- An item requires you to roll
- Both parties agree on rolling for an outcome
-Staff intervention decides on a roll.
3.9 More Player Models and Skins
MPM in Public RP areas must be Rp-Appropriate. If you can't change your skin please use MPM to change it. Staff will ask you to change your skin or MPM if it's not appropriate or disrupting.
3.10 Character Sheets
If the Staff requests of you, please make a character sheet- this is just to clarify whether a character is OP or not. And if it is found to be OP We are willing to work with you to help. Character sheets are not compulsory, but will become so if you are asked to create one.
3.11 Definition of Armour for classes
"Heavy" armor is armor which typically covers large portions of the body and protects greatly against attacks which slash, pierce, or rend flesh. Bludgeoning/bashing attacks are deflected only by a moderate amount with Heavy armor. Heavy armor often makes lots of noise and can make one less nimble in their movements, depending on how much is worn.
"Light" armor is armor which only moderately reduces the harm from attacks which slash, pierce, or rend flesh. Light armor has no ability to protect against attacks based on brute strength and bludgeoning. Light armor is always thinner, and typically covers less of the body. Light armor has no effect on mobility.
With this, Spellweavers can only wear Light armour, if wearing heavy armour this brings their cooldown time to the equivalent of a Bladeslingers.
Flintlock/Clockwork Rules
4.1 No Instant Killing
We ask that if you use an item such as a flintlock (a gun), that you obey the KP rules- but also do not aim for the head of another person's character. RPing out conflict is prefered, as we do not want people instant killing others with headshots.
4.2 Where to Aim- What is allowed?
You can aim for areas which can bleed out, or stop them from being able to flee (e.g the knee). Even with KP Maiming is still allowed- as long as you keep to the KP rules and remain fair- Remember to always have a valid reasoning for your characters actions.
4.3 Requirements on Clockwork
Remember to follow all requirements needed for these items- Charge requirements, Loading/reload, and even malfunctions. Failure to follow these requirements can be reported.
5- Kill Permission Rules
5.1 Clear Reasoning
If you wish to kill another person's character, you must have clear character reasoning that is able to motivate someone to kill. However, reasons such as being simply provoked or disliking a certain race may not always be enough.
5.2 Remember kids, Death legally cant take you if you just say No.
a player must give consent to their character being killed if the reasoning for killing is not found as enough of a good reason. An example could be that a man wishes to kill another man who he kidnapped at random. Due to it being random, and the man doing nothing to provoke such, no kill perms are granted.
5.3 What counts as a Valid reason?
Deciding a reason which is good enough for killing a character is a case-by-case Basis, but if you knowingly put yourself in a dangerous situation by causing such danger, then you give up Kill Perms.
5.4 Okay.. they said No. Now what?
Maiming is always allowed as long as you have a valid reason for doing so. So refusing to be injured in the middle of a fight is considered OP or simply avoiding proper RP if there is proper/valid reasoning to being attacked/maimed/etc. Maiming can also be done when asked for Kill perms and the player has said No. However do remember to be respectful; Do not make someone a living vegetable because they said no to being killed, people still wish to RP their characters.
5.5 Cant agree if a Reason is Valid, What do i do?
If you believe someone's reason to Killing your character is unjust but they believe it isn't, contact staff immediately; as we are willing to help and sort out an alternative or try and see how it is just/unjust. This can be called upon with maiming if you think the reason for that is also unjust. Remember that KP is a case-by-case scenario.
6- Evasion and Loophole Rules
6.1 Breaking Rules
Trying to evade, look for loopholes, or stay borderline within the rules will be treated as breaking them.
6.2 Intention
- The intention behind the rules is what matters, not the verbatim meaning.
Punishment works in three major tiers. Tiers may be skipped based on the severity or frequency of the infraction.
How Punishments Are Handed Out
Warnings
These will be verbally handed out by the staff. Warnings will be a factor in staff decisions, but otherwise have no permanent consequences.
Probation
A temporary (usually 24 hours) lockout from the server. You will be placed in a probation channel in which you can ask for clarification on a rule or why you were given a probation.
Strikes
A more severe mark on your record reserved for repeat offenses or offenses where the staff feel that solely a probation is not warranted. Strikes are additionally coupled with a 24 hour probation. Three strikes, you're out. There are both permanent and temporary strikes. Unless explicitly stated, the issued strike is permanent.
Staff can issue any tier of punishment at any given time, if they feel they have ample reason.
Bans
You will only be banned 2 times before a full Permaban. However even this is based off of the severity of Strikes, Warnings, and Probation periods given to the player.
We may change these rules at any time, with prior warning. It is your responsibility to periodically check this channel for updates; your actions will be judged against the current rules, regardless of whether or not you were aware of a change.
NO TROLLING
